This is a great destination because half of the fun of going is taking the ferry over to Vashon.Easy preparation before going is to read Berkeley Breathed's book,"Red Ranger Came Calling". This is the "bike in the tree" that inspired the story.
The "Aunt Vy" character in the book will autograph books if you visit her at her Country Store, across the street from the Bicycle Tree. You can't miss the Country Store. The Red Ranger book is sold there if anyone needs a copy!How to get there, when you get off the ferry go all the way through town and pull into the north side of the parking lot at Sound Food Cafe. The bike is up the trail just inside of the woods - you can see a path, but it is not marked.

I didn't know this was a real place! Every year the Seattle Book It Repertory theatre. does a production of this book that is fabulous I would highly recommend it - http://www.book-it.org/2006-2007/default.asp
